Meet Valentina
Valentina has always been a water lover, spending her childhood and teen years swimming, windsurfing, and sailing. But before she became a captain, she was deep into a totally different career.
For 15 years, she navigated the digital world, starting in Italy and later moving to Dublin. There, she managed, or better said, she “captained” account management and sales teams at PayPal and Accenture. But eventually, the ocean’s call was too strong to resist.
She headed to the rough waters of Algarve in sunny southern Portugal to get her RYA Yachtmaster certification and decided there was no way of going back to the corporate world. She crossed the Atlantic by joining the ARC+ race and back in Europe, she spent four awesome years in Greece as a skipper and sailing instructor.
In Greece, Valentina found that charters were very rewarding. She loved mixing her sailing skills with her passion for teaching, and her newfound curiosity for mixology.
Meet Simone
Most of Simone’s childhood pictures show him in his grandma’s kitchen, playing with flour and eggs. So, it’s no surprise he ended up in a galley!
Even though it took him a while to go pro, 20 years, to be exact! He spent those years in the Information Technology industry, bouncing between Italy and Ireland, meeting all sorts of business bigwigs. Many of them ended up buying the tech he was selling!
When he saw the way to put together the dream of a life at sea and the never-ending curiosity for international gastronomy, he decided it was time to stop selling software! He then took a 7-month sabbatical in South America to reset his mind and get ready for a new life full of action and physical work. And he also learned Spanish and discovered that a backpack can never be too light!
Don’t worry, living in Ireland and traveling the world from Indonesia to Namibia didn’t make him lose his Italian touch. Just let him know what you don’t like, and there will be delightful surprise, an honest and straightforward cooking with no rules.
And when he is not in the galley, you’ll find him up in the sailing bag or captaining the tender!
Guest Reviews
You guys were so kind and were so fun. Grant going tubing with you was the best you were whipping us around and we said many things while tubing. Ulrika I don't even know how to start with your cooking. It was the most/best food I have ever had. Going on this boat was the best thing I've ever done. I had the most fun in my life ever. You guys were so interactive and were so nice. I loved to be able to tell you stories of our days and set the table which I wish I did more. I hope you will be able to make more memories with you guys.
Thank you for an amazing week! Our family had a wonderful time, everything was perfect. You outdid yourselves from the hospitality, itinerary and delicious food. We hope to cross paths with you again soon! Please stay in touch and find us in Annapolis!
